After today’s update of Studio (419 / Windows) Quick Open (Ctrl-P) feature is crashing at close to 100% if characters are entered too quickly. If characters are entered slowly enough in searching for a file or instance then it doesn’t appear to crash. Video attached.
Hi, Thanks for reporting the bug! and sorry for the inconvenience.
We tried hard on Mac and Win10, and can not reproduce it, but your video is convincing enough that there is a bug.
would you like to help us to reproduce the bug?
could you provide the placefile(better not the game you are working on), and the key sequence you type?
beside, you did not encounter the problem before version 419, right?
Thanks!
The place id is 2986677229. The game is “Giant Simulator”. Upon opening the project try Quick Open with a file like “Player” (Module script) or “GameService” (ModuleScript).
I also could not reproduce this on a smaller project, only on Giant Simulator which is a noticeably larger project (in terms of number of scripts and Instances).
Also, yes I only noticed this after today’s update. Thanks for following up on this!

I reproduced this yesterday on a baseplate on my laptop, but I’m not able to reproduce it now on either my laptop or my desktop. All I did was smash on my keyboard into the input box and it crashed right away (within 6 characters).

There are some quick open performance improvements for large project released recently, might also fixed this one.
Let me know if the bug still exist.
Thanks again for reporting.
