Studio keeps opening with separate windows — how do I stop this?

When I open Studio, sometimes it will start like this:

I can’t drag the render window by its tab handle and place it in the main window.

If Studio happens to not open like this, then as soon as I enter play mode for testing, it will bug out again and separate the windows.

I don’t know what’s causing this, and I don’t believe I changed any settings. Is this a bug or an option I can disable?

maybe redownload studio or hit the “Fullscreen” button

Drag the window back to the original position (in your place, back to the black window).

There’s nowhere I can grab the window to drag it. It seems to just be stuck there, and even doing something like Windows Key + Shift + Right Arrow to switch the window to the other monitor does not work.

This happens to me a time ago too, but a bit different. I think there’s still a post in #help-and-feedback

can you link the post if it has a solution? You can view your liked posts and even posts you’ve read under your activity page.

I had this same problem months and months ago, I had this persistent bug where the viewport would be borderless and anchored to the top left corner of my screen, while the studio window could move around as normal with a blank viewport section.

lasted about a week, reinstalling didn’t help, but when a studio update came out it was fixed :man_shrugging:
