Studio lagging out when doing anything with multiple instances

Hello Again. I’m going to jump to the issue

So I build maps for a First Person Shooter game and I have been noticing that once you copy, duplicate or delete multiple parts, specifically after 12 selected instances, Studio completely drops your frames totally

This affects me as the plugin I use for triangle terrain needs to be used with precision in order to get adequate terrain shapes and, because of the frame drops, getting terrain done has become an excruciating task as moving only one node can drop me all the way down to 3 FPS

I have both Quality and Edit Quality Settings at 1. I’m running on an Acer Nitro 5 with a Terabyte SSD

Any tips or solutions to help alleviate will be appreciated

(Made edit for clarity purposes)

what are the specs of your pc?

I am on my laptop.

Using a Acer Nitro 5. No extra ram, a 1TB SSD. It has a Nvidia GTX1050

hmm… when did this problem first occur and do you have any programs running in the background?

I have Spotify for music and Discord. Obviously Edge right now, but this didn’t happen 2 years ago, when I was running a GTX960. I got this laptop back in 2018 and this issue only really started i think around November - December 2020.

It happens with any type of instance, ranging from parts, meshparts, unions, lights, textures and decals. Scripts run fine

Open up task manager and tell me if anything is using up a lot of your ram

Edge. I’m going to try and close some tabs then test again

Only thing eating RAM is Studio. Literally closed everything except for Edge obviously and Studio

How much ram do you have? You might want to consider upgrading your ram.

I have 8 GB of RAM currently, but I think my previous desktop had 6 GB or 4 GB of RAM and it still could run studio fine

If you have lowered your graphics then you have to close studio then reopen it.

How much ram is studio taking?

Studio’s currently taking 418 MB

Yeah, that’s all the help I can give, the ram doesn’t seem to be the issue.

Hey have you made sure your graphics are down and you closed studio and then reopened it?

I think i found the problem. One of my plugins is apparently very unoptimized after a buddy on discord pointed it out. Will uninstall it. Thanks for the help

I had this at one point, however, I found a model that had a lag inducing script within. It was the model creating lag, I suggest you check for any free models.
