I re-enabled G-sync and set it to “Enable for windowed and full screen mode” and the lag returned so the first workaround of disabling G-sync or setting it to only apply on full screen is still necessary. This isn’t much of an issue.
I can’t speak for the others who were having issues as their issues seemed to stem from a different problem.
I have the issue without having anything from NVIDEA. The lag is getting lowered if I close most of my scripts but I don’t want to open them in the explorer again as sometimes I work in multiple scripts.
EDIT: if I look in the performance tab the CPU goes up to 90 while typing (maxCPU is at 33)
I even disabled and uninstalled every single plugin
After latest update (0.545.395.5450470), it takes over a minute to write two lines of text.
All plugins off, beta off. Mac mini (2018) macOS Monterey.
If I detach the editor, the slowness disappears.
Update: Besides detaching the editor, also closing all other tabs makes it fast again. It seems that the more tabs you have open, the slower it becomes to type.
I’ve just found out that even I have the bug; Studio overall is a laggy, slow mess on my “gaming computer” (and strangely, so is Roblox’s client at times), but it gets worse when editing a script, taking multiple seconds to draw a couple of the letters I typed at a time!
I undocked the script editor and returned to the viewport and now it’s better, so that’s how I know I’m affected by this bug too.
Having the same issue, hadn’t thought to try detaching the editor as something that would “fix” it, but yea that’s the “workaround” for the moment.
I use Windows 10 Version 10.0.19043 Build 19043 with the following PC Build.
So seems to be a pretty universal problem if both Mac & Windows are struggling it.
Im having this problem too… this latest studio update has slowed down the script editor by a ton, I wish there was a way to revert it
