Studio loses all progress when computer enters sleep mode

While working on my new update, ive noticed everytime I left my computer to go do something (EX: Bathroom/Walk the dog), when I returned and woke the computer up from sleep mode (for more than a few minutes), it would have the error message “Removed you from Team Create Contributor”.

The issue is, I have team create disabled. I develop alone.
The secondary issue is, since it does this during sleep mode, it doesnt make ANY form of autosave. Ive lost a lot of progress over this personally already. Enough for me to feel a bug report is necessary.
The third is, since this isnt technically a crash, theres no log dumps or anything of the sort. Making it impossible to exactly know why its happening.

There is nothing else necessarily besides that. I would appreciate if this was looked into, as this has been mildly infuriating.

This has happened to me once already. I wanted to take a break from working on my game called “CLASSROOMS” for around an hour so I closed the lid of my laptop, not knowing that I left studio open. When I came back, I reopened Studio and there was an error message.

“You were removed as a team create contributor”

Despite team create being disabled and my game is intended to be a solo project, the error message still appeared while my computer was asleep. I then reopened the game file and I lost EVERYTHING I did, 2+ hours of work went missing and no forms of autosave or anything whatsoever. I had to remake everything I did before the “crash” because of what happened.

Please address this issue ASAP roblox. If I leave studio open again and I close my laptop lid not knowing I left studio open, this could be a harsh experience losing 2+ hours of work with no forms of autosave or anything. This is a severe issue and needs to be fixed soon.

Can confirm, this is the exact message you get when you turn on your computer again.

Roblox automatically deletes the autosave file when this happens so there is zero recovery afterwards.

I verified this by opening a baseplate, made a few small changes and started a studio playtest.
This will create an autosave file that I can check by opening my autosave folder.

Put my computer to hibernate/sleep and then turn it on again.
I will immediately see that the autosave folder no longer has the autosave file along with this error message.

Yep, same thing here.

I get the removed as a team create member message and boom 2 hours of progress gone.
As others have stated, team create is disabled so it makes absolutely zero sense for it to happen in the first place.

Best part is that the autosave recovery file is deleted too, just to pour more salt into the wound.

Makes me wonder if Roblox has any form of QA testing or any testing prior to releases because I swear with each fix or improvement, ten other things break or don’t work at all.

This has happened to me twice. I’ve never experienced data loss like this because Roblox is usually good about autosaving. This is entirely unacceptable, I’m losing hours of dev work due to something that isn’t in my control.

I’ve experienced something similar to your issue. Whenever I have studio open, 90% of the time I’m in team create, whenever I walk away from my pc, I lock it by pressing Win + L. After approximately 2 hours of having my pc locked, I come back to find that the studio process was arbitrarily killed.

My case though is that, Team Create is off. I dont see how it would do this to me when I dont even have team create enabled in the first place… (┬┬﹏┬┬)

I was also the one getting my changes deleted due to this. It was weird why I got this prompt when Team Create is disabled. It is also weird since I’m the only person making the game.

I’m not that guy who saves or publishes frequently so that can make my progress slow since I’m trying to commit into making a game.

I dont know, but I just turned on Team Create to let certain people play my game and after turning off Team Create, I’ve been always seeing this prompt everytime I close my laptop for a while. I already messaged to the bug support about this situation.

For now, I might hit that save button everytime I change my script until this has been fixed.

Yeah, it goes without saying that it’s a very confusing error message in this context.

Agreed. There is literally no context about the error message whatsoever, even when team create is disabled like on my game.

I’m pretty sure it is fixed now. I accidentally let my computer sleep and I didn’t get the error message this time. I’m not fully sure, though hopefully Roblox fixed this issue.

Nah, still the same. I opened the same project on my laptop, then I put my laptop to sleep and left it for over 10 minutes. The error message still continues. There wasn’t any updates for the app. Maybe you got an update?

It isnt, I just got it again this morning. | I will clarify, letting the computer sleep for like, a minute will not trigger it. It has to stay asleep for some time, when you return itl be kapoot.

We’ve identified the issue and pushed a fix. You’ll have to restart studio to get the effects. Can y’all confirm that it’s working as expected now? Thanks again for reporting this issue and we apologize for any inconveniences we’ve caused.

I can confirm the problem has been fixed. I did the same thing where I open a game on the studio then left my computer sleeping for 10 minutes; the error message doesn’t happen anymore.

Now I don’t have to frequently press the save button anymore. Thank you.

The bug just happened to me again, last night. My studio was up to date. Can you guys please check it out again? | It hasnt happened this time round, perhaps I was just unlucky. I will update if it happens again further.

Hi Suggyiem. The changes should propagate after you close all of your Studio sessions and reopen them. Please let us know if you are still getting this issue after doing that, then there may be a deeper problem here that we need to investigate!
