Studio Memory Issue Causing Textures to Unload

When I have studio open for a long period of time (a few hours+), textures will unload (including mesh textures, particle emitters, beams, etc but not UI images). Some meshes will also render in the lowest LoD even if I’m right next to them. Seems like studio thinks it’s running out of memory (my PC has 32g of RAM so it shouldn’t be an issue). If I restart studio, everything loads back in.

Expected behavior

All textures stay loaded in. MeshPart LoD is not reduced.

this has been happening to me too, most often during playtests, it’s completely fine one second then the next second all textures are gone. and they remain gone for any subsequent playtests (though sometimes it fixes itself). I assumed it would be fixed eventually but it’s been happening for months and it’s been heavily hindering development for me to the point that I have to publish and test in-game instead. sometimes occurs not even 5 minutes into studio, extremely frustrating to deal with and kills my motivation… would greatly appreciate if this were looked into asap

Yes, exact same issue for me

Same thing here, my studio loads in all the textures are there and then one minute later when I’m moving around they just unload right in front of my eyes, not a pc problem here either I have 64gbs of ram, this has been a problem for quite a while now actually kind of insane

I am also having this issue, where the longer I work the more things that start to disappear, it is especially noticable in places that contain lots of assets such as meshes, textures, etc. And once a texture or asset deloads, it never comes back. This is only fixed when fully closing out of studio and relaunching.

bump

This has been occurring to me for months, was not something that ever happened before. If I have studio open for a long time it always happens, though the time it takes for everything to deload feels pretty random. It also worsens overtime, and can either happen over the course of hours or within minutes.

For example, I have this studio session I’ve had open for over 10 minutes and already half of these particle emitters that are always active in the corner are just missing forever. No amount of property edits will bring them back unless I completely reopen studio.

still happening sadly :broken_heart: I pretty much have to reopen studio entirely every time to fix it

can confirm, very annoying to deal with because rejoining very big places or maps with alot of heavy meshes is very long and wasting 15 minutes to load every hour or so is very unpleasant

Have you tried a full uninstall including all dependencies and all cache?
