Studio Playtesting doesn't work with NordVPN

(I know this is not the correct category, but since “Members” are mentally incapable of discovering and thus reporting bugs, here we are. Thanks, Roblox)

Whenever NordVPN runs on my computer, client playtesting seems to be broken in studio. Whenever it is launched, the player never connects and is met with an error 279 (generic failed connection error). Disabling the VPN fixes the issue immediately. No settings in the VPN seem to solve the issue.

Since NordVPN is the most popular VPN service and I’m sure many of you use it, have any of you met this issue? If so, how did you resolve it?

Its because Roblox blocks some VPNs. I recommend trying different protocols or disconnecting and reconnecting until you find an IP Address that wont give you the error.

Thing is, I can play Roblox just fine. I’ve never had any issues playing games with the VPN on; only playtesting in studio.

Strange. Try messing with a few settings I mentioned above anyway. You never know. :upside_down_face:

I’ve tried all 3 available to NordVPN (OpenVPN UDP, OpenVPN TDP, and NordLynx), as well as try servers around the world, but all give the same result.

It’s possible NordVPN is blocking Roblox from opening a port on your localhost, since Roblox effectively creates an on-board server for playtests. Try looking for any port or localhost settings in the VPN.
