If you update a level a bunch of times,(usually happens to me around 5 times) the game will no longer update. You can continue to hit upload and it says complete, but doesn’t update the game. I usually have to wait around 20 minutes to be able to update my game again. This bug is really annoying and needs to be fixed.
Yeah, I’ve noticed this too. It happens when I constantly update something.
Perhaps it is to save bandwidth?
I doubt it. I can’t even update any of my games due to this.
Just save it to your computer and wait 20 minutes.
Yea, that’s not really a solution.
Interesting. About how many times do you upload before it starts failing? And it never says that it failed?
Roughly 5-8 times
I just tried to reproduce this event, and I had no luck. How large are the places you are updating?
164KB if that’s the measurement you’re looking for.
The place I’m uploading is 167KB but it happens to every place. You could also try saving the game onto your computer and try uploading it from there because that’s what I do when the error occurs. I’m not sure about when you upload straight from editing the game though.
It sounds like you’re being throttled.
This is a pain in the ass, I’ve been having this happen again now.
But it has been going on for 2 hours straight. I’ve restarted Roblox Studio, Restarted my PC and reverted my place and it keeps occurring.
Simply cannot update my game this evening.
It just started happening to me again. This is extremely annoying.
Do you get an error message saying it failed, or how are you actually verifying that the upload actually failed?
Well I find it first occurs when I use “Publish to ROBLOX” (you know, the one where you upload a place directly without having to select the place to update, it recognises the current game instance.)
The publish bar at the bottom on the screen does it’s little load animation and then stops. It looks completely normal.
The place doesn’t get updated.
So then when I go to use “Publish to ROBLOX as”, I select the place and it updates just as usual, but the place doesn’t get updated aswell.
In other words, everything looks pretty normal, but the uploads don’t get posted to the site.
Also I think it might be valuable to know that I have only had this happen in the Ribbon UI, perhaps this UI might be the problem, never had it on the other standard Studio UI
I don’t think it’s a UI problem. The fact that you’re not getting error messages is implying that the web request thinks everything is okay. I’ll look into this. If you have any additional information, it would be helpful.
If either of you get this reproduced again, please contact Khanovich on the IRC. I can look directly at our Web Logs to see what is going on.
This has been happening to me for a while. As a temporary solution, I have found that simply moving the camera to a different position in Studio allows you to properly upload the place file. Can anyone else confirm this?
Just had it happen for the first time on the original studio UI.
I got the same problem… it saves it, but the game itself is not updated…
