Today (April 17 2025), my ROBLOX Studio received an update. A fair amount of issues have resulted from it, all relating to its connection to stable internet.
I use my iPhone 16’s Verizon Mobile Hotspot to develop pretty regularly, and never had an issue. Today, while using that hotspot, I constantly receive this warning after being in Studio for 5-10 minutes:
Any time I receive this message, I cannot edit any code (it gets greyed out), and it does not go away until I close and reopen Studio. Any changes to scripts I make will not save.
I then switched over to a dedicated mobile hotspot from T-Mobile using a JeXtream device; this time, the warning did not appear at all. However, closing and reopening Studio, any code changes are lost. Even closing and reopening the script editor for a particular script - code will not save.
I’ve used both these devices EXTENSIVELY for months at least, and never had an issue like this. I assume any changes done in the 3D world and not script editor will also not carry over either. Is
Expected behavior
If everything was working correctly, I would not have to redo my code over and over again - the script editor in Studio would save any changes I make.
Thanks for the reports. Our on-call engineering team has resolved the issue. If you continue to experience any problems, please let us know.
Important note: Auto-saving was experiencing issues, and there’s a chance your Studio progress was not saved—especially if you closed the place. However, if you remained in the Team Create session, your progress should start auto-saving again.
