Sunsetting Studio support for Windows 7, 8.1, and MacOS 10.13

tell me the difference between win 10 and win 11 without describing the looks and the stuff (answer: more bloat in 11)

windows 11 is the reason why i switched to linux because windows 11 was using like 50% of my ram on idle (like what the hell :sob:) and because of the insane amount of bloat and spyware (i have never seen an os that horrible to use). anyways i gotta thank microsoft for being great at promoting linux :penguin:

Sad. I’m one of the very few people who use MacOS 10.13.6
I still think it’s a reasonable sunsetting especially for a specific OS version that’s barely used like mine.

I am ready to move to Windows Server 2025 (the most debloated Windows 11 besides from Tiny11) on older systems if I want to run Roblox Studio on it.

The day has come. It’s still possible to use Studio though. The only thing that changed is this blue banner telling you to upgrade.

I wonder if the client still works or not, including through bloxstrap since I’ve heard you could bypass the lock by launching the client through bloxstrap. I don’t have any Windows 7 device to test this on.

I’m still on Win7, might try that soon. Haven’t really played lately.

Well, looks like this day is the final day of Roblox Studio support on windows 7/8.1
I’m really sad, because I won’t be able to continue my projects and help my friends in team create works.

When I tried using VxKex on Roblox Studio, it bypasses/ignores the compability version.
As I think, what it is, Roblox focuses on windows build number (detects what system we are using) and doesn’t allow us to use it anyway, even with different version reporting.

It seems like we have finally reached that timeline, didn’t we?

It’s still unclear to me if the client is still supported or not though, including through third party launchers like Bloxstrap (I’ve heard it can bypass the restriction that prevents you from playing on Windows 7 and 8.x).

Yep. We turned on the active blocking in Studio installer and launch last week. As far as I know, client/player rolled this out in January.

Hey, so uh the active blocking you turned on
it detects windows 10 for some reason.

What’s your available RAM on that device?

3 GB ram.
Studio used to run fine like 6 days ago but im pretty sure that’s the minimum requirements.

microsoft kicked free upgrades to the curb late 2023, I haven’t been able to get using SLP activation to work since at least october last year with Windows 7 keys (last one that worked was reinstalling windows 10 on my main desktop due to software issues ~october last year)
hell you can’t even reinstall windows on those machines without it deactivating now, I didn’t find that out the hard way on my thinkpad

Surprisingly, there’s still many people stuck in Windows 10. My school computers are Windows 10, and many people who haven’t replaced their old computer yet are still there. If Windows 10 is gonna get sunsetted, it should be at least in 2030.
