Sunsetting User-to-User Inbox Messaging

They did care when they were literally about to kill themselves with that lame marketplace update.

Just proving that you donā€™t actually listen to what your users want.
There are so many reasons pointed out in this post why it isnā€™t a good idea.

Prove to us this is a realistic decision that is SAFE for all users and is as convenient as the way the messaging system was set up.

What is the actual harm to Roblox caused by leaving the messaging system in place?

I hate this feature, but I understand itā€™s very important for young roblox-users to communicate with their roblox friends, and itā€™s also a good place to, you know, invite people to your experience/other experiences, to perhaps boost the numbers?

i was completely unaware of this being a thingā€¦ welp. i now have no way to contact a lot of my old ROBLOX friends from way back then. not all of them are developers, a lot of them are just users of the site and a part of subcommunities i was in. i canā€™t ask them for their discord, not all of them have twitter or even exist off-site. this actually blows. i had a few old friends contact me a few months ago and iā€™d reply when i can, but now they canā€™t do that anymore. i canā€™t even do that anymore.

iā€™m really upset by this.

I personally see both sides to this

server space is expensive and roblox isnt exactly making money at the moment, quite the opposite. If gutting messages makes us come closer to saving roblox im all for it.

However, there is no suitable replacement for them yet, and they still serve a vital role. In my capacity as president of Colonial Domination (which is also censored when typed with a capital c and d in the search bar but never anytime else but thats off topic) They serve a vital role in helping me communicate with potential developers, members of my community who do not have discord and more generally the wider roblox community. They have been integral to the workings of some of my past projects and if there are developers like my younger self out there will limit the ability of games owned by people who dont want to use third party platforms like discord to communicate with others and therefore limit their success.
