I recently had a little project trying to make a 3d version of a really old isometric tycoon game.
My question is, how would I replicate this legacy style that’s in games like OpenTTD, Chris Sawyer’s Locomotion, Rollercoaster Tycoon, etc?

What are the links to the games to check them out ?
I’m not entirely sure of the details, but It seems rather doable if you lock the camera angle and lock all of your modular parts to a grid.
To get the more Isometric look you might need to change the way the camera looks at things to change how they appear. (sorry Idk how to word it.)

ya, the camera angle will be fixed from an upward view looking down to the to the right… and all models are made for that angle, which also means you have to be careful about taller parts when working in 3d and the players being behind them unviewable… or monsters…
oh, I thought you were going to throw out some roblox links…
but ya, back in the day when there were not 3d engines the 2d would simulate 3d with such… I say go for it! there are also things you can do , if the camera can not see the player you highlight them, so they still know where they are when they are behind something.
