Super Striker League - Shop Update Details!

Shop Update - Coming Soon!

In our next update, Super Striker League will receive a much-needed rework of the Shop and Crates systems! There's a lot of important changes coming in, so buckle up!

Summary

đź“ś Click here if you just want a short summary of the changes!
  • Crates are being phased out, and you will be refunded for all Crates in your inventory. Instead, you can buy Equipment and Trinkets directly from the Shop; each player will get a personalized daily selection of items to buy.
  • Going forward, Uniforms/Celebrations/Abilities will be sold via gamepass bundles, rather than being sold individually. The gamepass prices will be cheaper than actually buying each individual item. Anything you already own will still be available to you.
  • Supers will be getting extra sound and visual effects.
  • Balance adjustments to give all tackles an equal chance of catching the ball.
  • The Robux prices for buying Cash/Pro Tickets from the shop will be cheaper, and you’ll get much more currency from each purchase.
  • 1-Hour Double XP Orbs, Overclockers, and Trinket Slot Unlockers will be sold in the shop for Pro Tickets. 24-Hour Double XP Orbs will be discontinued and untradable, but will still be usable if you have them.
  • Daily Login Rewards will be changed to a First Daily Win currency bonus
  • Leveling up will provide Cash bonuses every 10 levels, instead of flooding your inventory with random items.
  • In later updates, new items will be added: Cosmetic Keys, Paint Canisters, and a new Legendary equipment set!

Shop and Crates

Crates were originally set up as a quick and simple solution to give players a variety of randomized items. However, they’re not a healthy thing to continue having in the game. Your chances of getting a good item are left up to luck, and you could end up spending a ton of money before you’re lucky enough to get exactly what you’re looking for; this isn’t what the game should be about. Plus, loot crates are starting to be banned by certain countries, so some players have no way of even obtaining these items.

To improve the experience and make it fair and enjoyable for everyone, we’re going to phase out Crates and instead revamp the in-game Shop to sell gear directly to players!

Every day, each player will have a personalized selection of Headgear, Gloves, Shoes, and Trinkets available to buy from their own Shop menu. The shop’s stock is randomized and specific to each player; the key difference from the Crates system is that you can see exactly what you’re purchasing, and you’ll always pay a set price for the item you want, based on its rarity/level/stat points.

Once the Shop Update is released, any crates still in your inventory will be automatically sold and refunded for their full original prices.

(View refund values)
  • Tier 1 Crates: $500/crate
  • Tier 2 Crates: $1500/crate
  • Tier 3 Crates: $5000/crate
  • Tier 4 Crates: $10000/crate
  • Supply Crates: $500/crate
  • Rare Supply Crates: $2000/crate
  • Basic Crates (legacy item): $100/crate

Reworking the Shop will also allow us to potentially introduce new types of items in the future!

Celebrations and Uniform Packs

Right now you have to buy Celebrations and Uniforms individually for a large amount of Pro Tickets, and because of this, they’re not very popular. Instead, we’ll be moving these items into Celebration Packs and Uniform Packs, which bundle a bunch of Celebrations or Uniforms into one gamepass purchase! The gamepasses will be much cheaper than buying all the items individually, so this will provide much better value.

Note that you won’t be able to buy individual Celebrations or Uniforms after the update - they’ll be available exclusively through the gamepass bundles. Of course, any Celebrations or Uniforms you already purchased will still be available to you.

Tackles and Dekes

Similar to above, instead of selling each Tackle and Deke ability separately, they will all be bundled into one gamepass purchase instead; buying the gamepass will unlock access to every Tackle and Deke. Just like before, any Tackles and Dekes you already purchased will still be available to you.

Obviously, ability balance is an important concern here - paid abilities should NEVER give a significant advantage over the default abilities, it should only be a matter of choosing whichever abilities fit your own preference and playstyle.

While the abilities are generally balanced at most levels, in high level play there are balance issues due to the tackle animations having different heights and allowing some players to catch the ball out of the air more easily. This update will invisibly change all tackles to have the same height and have an equal chance of catching the ball in the air.

đź“ś Expand for the more detailed explanation:
  • When you tackle, a special, non-collidable hitbox will be created which solely has the ability to catch the ball. This hitbox is as tall as your character’s standing height and lasts for the entire move duration - so even when using Slide Tackle for example, you will be able to catch the ball at the same height as a Knockout Hit or Dropkick user, regardless of the different animations.

This update does NOT change the hitbox that determines whether you’ve tackled another player - this is a new, separate hitbox which is only used for catching the ball from the air, and nothing else.

Other adjustments:

  • Dropkick’s animation will be changed to not jump above the standard height
  • Dropkick’s sliding movement will start sooner, but distance traveled will be slightly reduced
  • Long Dive’s move duration will be slightly reduced
  • Counterattack’s move duration will be reduced, and stamina usage will be heavily reduced.

Supers

Super effects will also be sold exclusively via gamepasses going forward. To make them even more special though, the existing Supers will be given new sounds and effects for some added flair!

Also, many people have asked about new limited-time Supers (like the OG “Cyberspace” Super). I definitely want to get more Supers added in the future!

Robux Price Changes

Buying Cash/Pro Tickets from the shop is way too expensive at the moment, so I’ll be reducing the Robux prices in the shop, and you’ll also receive a lot more currency from each purchase! I want it to be very worthwhile for those who wish to support the game.

Additional Changes

Double XP Orbs, Overclockers, and Trinket Slot Unlockers

1-Hour Double XP Orbs, Overclockers, and Trinket Slot Unlockers will be directly sold in the shop for Pro Tickets.
24-Hour Double XP Orbs will be discontinued and made untradable, but they will still remain usable if you have them.

Daily Login Rewards

Daily Login Rewards will be changed to a First Daily Win bonus; logging in each day and winning a game will award you a guaranteed amount of bonus currency, on top of the bonus XP you already receive! Days 1-4 will give an increasing amount of Cash, and on Day 5 you’ll receive some free Pro Tickets. All-Star gamepass owners will have their rewards doubled!

Level Up Rewards

Right now you get a random new item every single time you level up. This is very messy since it clogs up your inventory with a ton of items you’ll just end up selling anyway. Instead, you’ll simply be rewarded with bonus Cash every 10 levels, with a bigger bonus every 100th level. With these changes, the Cash-per-game rate will also be changed accordingly for balance purposes.

Other Misc Changes

  • New players will have access to the Shop right away
  • Your current Tackle and Deke will be shown on the bottom menu bar, and you can change them from there.
  • The base sell value of items bought after the update is adjusted to better reflect the new shop prices.
  • The “Trade Up Trinkets” feature will be removed.
  • Item selection menu performance has been heavily improved; there will no longer be a huge lag spike when loading a menu that contains lots of items.
  • All players will be upgraded to have 999 inventory slots, and you will no longer need to purchase inventory space upgrades.

What's Coming Next

This is the first phase of the Shop Update, which will make all of the necessary changes to the current system. In the future, we’re also thinking about adding brand new items to the Shop:

  • Cosmetic Keys - Turn items into Cosmetic versions which can be worn to visually override your equipped gear!
  • Paint Canisters - Recolor an item to any of its available color variations!
  • New Legendary equipment set - Coming soon…
  • More items later on, based on your suggestions!

Also, since many people have been asking - yes, Clubs is still planned for release in the future, it has not been forgotten about. However, it was critical to release this Shop Update ASAP, since the current Crates system was quickly becoming unsustainable for the game’s future. It will also take a very large amount of work to make Clubs the best it can be, since there are obviously high expectations for the feature at this point, and our team currently has a lot of other work on our plate.

That wraps up all the changes coming soon! This is a really important update, as it will improve the long-term health of the game and hopefully open the doors for us to do even more in the future.

The update is open for testing now, so come check out the new Shop and let us know what you think, and give us feedback on what else you’d like the Shop to sell! The official release date will be announced soon via our social media channels.
