SurfaceAppearance is broken as of this morning

Reproduction Steps

The tree on the left does not use SurfaceAppearance. The tree on the right does. It happens in all files. These textures are not moderated. Setting the SurfaceAppearance image to the Mesh’s TextureID property confirms this.

I’m on the latest version of macOS, on an M1 Mac Mini. It’s happening in all of my files.

Expected Behavior
SurfaceAppearance should show visible foliage.

Actual Behavior
In all of my files, SurfaceAppearance is no longer working. I’m first noticing this today but it’s also my first day back in a SurfaceAppearance project in 7+ days.

Workaround
I do not have a workaround for getting SurfaceAppearance to work.

Do you have Beta Features → Cage Mesh Deformer turned on in Studio? If so, can you try again with it turned off?

Hm. I can’t explain this one. Without doing anything this problem has somehow resolved itself. It’s now only not working in the Materials Beta Studio that I use sometimes which is fair.

Happened to me randomly a while ago. Still not sure what I did to fix it, just came back randomly. But I dont use them anymore because a couple of my games use them and I don’t want my games breaking.
