Sword Attack Animation Feedback

Hi! I was interested in trying out animation since I wanted to learn a new Roblox skill while stuck inside and I made a sword attack animation. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated because I really want to get better at this. I had a lot of fun making it and I want to make more animations in the future!

I like it, it’s smooth while slashing and dicing when it is triggered!

I don’t see a change to this since it isn’t that choppy nor a problem with it. Nice! :happy2:

The animation itself is fine, but the ending of it (when it reverts to its original position) is rather brusque. The animation as a whole should definitely be made as smooth as the first half.

Overall, I think it looks good. I think that the animation could have more weight to it. When animating, think of the sword as an actual object with weight. In other words, make it feel more lively and realistic. This is my first time giving feedback on anything, so I really hope this helps.

In my opinion the animations just goes too fast, if I were holding a heavy sword I would swing it much slower

Looks good but definitely missing something, you should play around with easing styles, that is if you’re using moon suite animation plugin, then just select your keyframes and use numpad 7 as the keybind to launch, then play around a bit with those, they can be very useful when animating.

Good luck

Yeah it does look like its too fast, but I wanted to make an animation for a light sword like a katana or something. But I dont know how to model so I just made a stick lol

M’kay let me say what I was saying just make it better for you… .-.

I really like it, I honestly think it’s 100% amazing. Good job Bionic.

Really cool. Could try to bend the torso over just a little bit. But other than that it looks amazing.

Normally when you swing a sword, your entire body moves not just the arms. You could change the easing style to exponential, so it looks like it gradually swings faster as time increases. This can be done with the moon animation editor instead of the default roblox editor, but overall I like it.

The animation looks so smooth and clean, you did a great job constructing it, good job! You could add repetitive combo attacks to test your skill or try some special poses while unleashing some huge attack which could be some good practice. Truly nice work! :+1:

cool animation, in my opinion i think you could add some easing after the attack - like after the 2nd sword slash. his arms kind of stay in place, it looks a bit static (unless you did it intentionally)
