Hello developers! I’ve made a plugin that allows you to tag parts to be selected later! This is plugin has multiple use cases. The main one being easily grouping together parts once your done making a model. This plugin mainly applies for the niche use case of creating or modifying bigger models on your map and grouping them back together without having to worry about the surrounding parts on the map not allowing you to easily select everything.

  • Tag Selected
  • Untag Selected
  • Select Tagged (Selects everything you’ve tagged)
  • See Tagged (Highlights every tagged instance)
  • Tag New Instances (Tags new and duplicated instances)
  • Clear All Tagged (Removes all tags from everything you’ve tagged)
  • Ability to set keybinds (can disable them as well)
  • Ability to change the tag name (just incase you want a separate tag so you don’t share one with your peers in team create, or your game already uses the current tag name.)

Showcase:

Here is an example of me ungrouping a model, tagging all the parts, making some changes, then grouping everything back together with ease. This is especially useful when you have a model already on your map so you cannot drag select without catching unwanted parts in the crossfire! I personally use this plugin to easily make changes to models that I’ve already placed on the map and want to touch up.

Here is an example of me enabling “Tag New Instances” and building a quick model and easily grouping everything together. Once again this is perfect if you have to build a model onto the map such as a building that works with the terrain therefore you cant just build it on the baseplate and drag it in later. This is mainly intended to be used with large scale models that cant just easily be click selected obviously. I am just using small easy models for the examples, gyazo gifs can only be so long!

Note: Cloning already tagged instances also makes that cloned instanced tagged regardless if Tag New Instances is enabled or not.

Another niche use case is counting how many of an instance you’ve placed. As you can see here when I duplicate an already tagged tree I can check how many new trees I’ve placed.

This plugin is a feature taken from a multi-tool plugin that includes over 10+ plugins all in one.
