Tailflipped Hat's name is inconsistent with skater naming convention

Today, Roblox released the latest addition to the ): skater cap series, “Tailfllipped Hat”, which is a limited release for The Takeover event.

The issue with its name, however, is that it lacks the “):” branding in its name, which is commonly seen in the rest of the series. The only hat with the classic mesh that breaks this pattern is RBX Skater, which was released before all of these limited variants.

In the description of the first hat of the series, Red Grind, this indicates that ): is the logo for Roblox’s famous skater apparel brand.

For the most recent hat in the series, Front Stand, released in 2015, the lore indicates that ): was reinvented to :(, making a reference to the fact that it’s an inverted Star Tailslide, just like how Workclocks are named as inverted Clockworks.

Expected behavior

While many of the ): skaters have detailed lore in their descriptions, many are simple and don’t necessarily communicate the brand’s existence, just like Tailflipped Hat’s description. Here’s Purple Indy’s description:

It’s about you and the board. The moment when you catch air and have just enough time to pull off a sweet indy grab.

I’d expect for Tailflipped Hat’s name to be something like “): Tailflip Switch”, or at the very least, include the brand name ):.

No, it is not inconsistent. See RBX Skater for an example of an old hat that uses the ): motif on the texture but does not include it in the name.

It seems like the ): brand name is only used for the LimitedU, 100 stocked hats.

The only hat with the classic mesh that breaks this pattern is RBX Skater, which was released before all of these limited variants.

I would expect that RBX Skater is the exception, before the series was finalized in its limited form.

Take EOC/EOA/EOE for example, this series started with the “Sinister” face, but now the finalized form with colored eyes is known as “Eyes of _wrath”. If a blue variant were to release today and be called “Blue Sinister”, I’d expect for this to be inconsistent naming.

Given that it has the ‘):’ symbol and, adding ontop of the previous comment, is now a catalog limited in comparison to the non-limited skater version, it would be approriate for it to have its correct naming convention to match its predecessors in the Skater series:

There’s no indication that the current name is incorrect.

This is the first time we have an unstocked limited version of a hat in this series, and based on the names for the non-limited and 100 stocked limitedU variants, it could go either way.
