Taking sounds from other games?

Alright, let’s just say someone creates a game for example Phantom Forces. And another developer comes along and wants to make the same type of game. They end up taking the sounds like gunshots and put it into their own game. Does Roblox take any action against that? I’ve seen it been done before and also I have seen this thread Sounds and Music . But is it still considered copyright if your taking from Roblox? Update - when I say take I mean if someone looked through the code of Phantom Forces and found the sound ids.

If the owner of the asset approves people using it, for example, if you got it from the toolbox, you are obliged to use it. That is because the toolbox is 100% free assets that everyone can use and if someone strikes you down for using toolbox audio, they can’t(unless, in a special case where the assets in the toolbox is pirated).

If you have the consent of the asset owner, you can use it.

This is actually a a false sense of security because someone could have stolen the asset and uploaded it to the toolbox themselves - which doesn’t absolve you of using an asset that you do not have permission to use.

The best, most professional, most legal way of knowing for sure, is to contact the asset creator yourself.

This has been asked many times on the dev forum for all kinds of assets - the answer is the same.
