OK there seems to be a widespread hack happening right now - lots of people on youtube saying their games have been hacked - I get a team green screen with a laughing sound -

Your game has a backdoor. Typically from someone that has edit access, a free model, or from a compromised plugin.

ok Iâve removed all plugins - still the same. How would I check a model for exploits? would it have to have a script attached?

I just checked this out, and yep. Its Team Green. A quick way to see what might be going on is to open your game in Studio, and while you are in the viewport do Ctrl-P. In the top right hand corner of the box that pops up there will be a small pull-down menu. Open that and choose the option for âscript onlyâ. This will list all the scripts you have. See if anything looks out of place and go from there.

Some versions of adonis that arenât official tend to have backdoors, if your adonis is not the official then that my explain it.

The backdoor is found in a pumpkin free model.
Make sure to select all your pumpkin models, right click and press âDisable Scriptsâ.

A lot of halloween themed games are getting these backdoors.

I just saw a possible fix by someone on YouTube: the issue looks like âqPerfectionWeldâ - Iâm curious if a search for that in your game turns up anything.

WOW - yes I downloaded a beanbag for the comic shop - it does have that script and I disabled it and now the game is working!!
I found that just as you posted it - Iâm deleting those!!

It is an admin system. They may have been asking in order to find out if you used a fake Adonis script. Clearly that wasnât the issue though, glad itâs working now!

If it were from an affected plugin, it injected the backdoor into your game already. Removing it just stops it from re-adding it. You would need to restore to a previous version, or identify any scripts (or parts of scripts) that are suspect.
The âsmarterâ people who create backdoors wonât make it obvious. So even once the alert is gone, thereâs still potential for hidden admin/script execution scripts they can access with serverside permissions.
