We’re running into an issue where terrain placed with Terrain:PasteRegion doesn’t have an accompanying navigation mesh. It seems to be the same issue that was reported here: Terrain:Clear() removes navigationmesh from later loaded terrain – Unfortunately, we’re also unable to reproduce the issue in a simplified environment. We used this exact setup last October for our Halloween event, but it is no longer working.
The NavMeshMissing placefile demonstates the missing nav mesh on pasted terrain. The scripts with relevant terrain related calls are scene-manager-service and knit. The NavMeshPresent placefile is a simplified reproduction of our environment (Same terrain, parts, etc) where the nav mesh is properly generated.
We’re at a complete loss here and figured it may be easier to isolate the issue on your end.
Yesterday, we deployed a fix that resolved numerous issues related to terrain and the navigation mesh, which should also address the problems you have been experiencing.
Things should be working as expected. Please check that everything is working on your end and let us know if you have any further questions.
Hey! I’m not sure if this is related, but ever since yesterday, the option to show the navmesh in studio doesn’t work anymore, It no longer displays the navmesh either run mode or outside of run mode, on top of that navigation meshes take a lot longer to generate in the microprofiler
@ColRealPro I am able to see the navmesh in templates, please make sure you have the latest Studio version. If you are still experiencing this issue with a custom place, please open a separate report with repro instructions.
