I want you to be able to use scanner in open surfaces and maybe caves.The concept looks to need blue outlines, appearing in a wave from the player to horizont, like a Wireframe terrain.I currently have no idea how to achieve the effect, but i suppose it can be a big invisible part of a tool that would cover a large area.
