Text Labels can't be seen through semi transparent parts

Today I was trying to create a OPEN/CLOSED window sign for a store I’m building. I created the text using a text label, and then realized you can’t see it through the windows glass.

I have encountered this problem many, many times and finally decided to make a forum post about it.

I was wondering if, until roblox gets this fixed, there are any ways around it other then setting the surface gui to be AlwaysOnTop.
Example:

Outside glass:

Inside glass:

Thanks

This same thing happens with parts, not just Labels and such.

This only applies to glass. It will work with any other transparent material.

Glass’s behavior has been talked about a lot, and will hopefully be mended in the future. It’s ability to hide UI objects and slightly transparent objects can be useful in specific cases, but for the most part, its a hindrance.

It is because it is a decal. It is an infinitely thin piece of string that you can only perceive from a certain angle.

Following from KaysOfFate’s theory, glass is a unique effect when you look through it.

It is a text label, not a decal (correct me if im wrong)
But this could be the solution; to use another material other than glass

Yes it is a text label, but I will try this.

HAHA, it worked. Thanks so much!
