I’m working on a medieval game and would like to support as many players on a server as possible. The problem is that I can’t decide between using textures or low poly armor (blender). I prefer the latter because it makes the game look better, but not at the cost of lag.
Personally, I would choose the low-poly armor since it will look more like actual armor does. However, if you are concerned about it causing performance issues, you might want to add an option to turn of the 3d armor and just have it as regular clothing for better performance. If you do choose the low-poly armor, then try to make it as performant as possible (it really depends on how many players are in the server, though).
