Are you importing the .obj files back into Roblox studio after UV mapping them?

Yes I model them in fusion 360 then import to blender to texture then into studio

Are you able to describe your process step-by-step? If you were doing it properly, you wouldn’t have any issue.

first I start a sketch in fusion 360 I then extrude the sketch I fillet and chamfer and cut the mesh for detail and I keep the facet count under 10k I save the mesh as an obj file I then import the mesh into blender I smart uv project the mesh, i have blender cut in half one half is texture paint the other is 3d viewpoint i then go into shader editor, add a image texture and material output and connect surface to color, then i use texture paint to start coloring the uv unwrap and when i finish i click image and click save as and save it into pictures and import the mesh into studio then apply the texture using the texture id option when clicking on the mesh and then it just changes the gun color to the primary color of the texture.

Before smart UV projecting, do you create a new 1024x1024 UV map for the model?

If your baking the textures and they are turning just black it because you need to change the bake to diffuse instead of combined and the bake colour only that helps me.

If you UV map it in Blender, save the UV image when you’re done, export that .obj and import it into Roblox studio, everything should be there. You must be missing a step along the way—unless you show your process from start to finish, there’s nothing any of us can do to help you.

I’ll give you a short tutorial on how to do this. Whenever I texture, I’d like to have my Shader, UV, and Viewport editors all open. First thing you’d like to do is Unwrap it. First I go to Edit mode, go on Face Selection, select all the faces, press the “u” key, and click “Smart UV Project”. After that, you should have your object unwrapped.

After you unwrapped your image, click “Image” and “New”. You can name the texture however you like.
image
After that, I go to my shader editor, and add in an image texture for each material I use. To do this, press “Shift+A”, go to “Search”, and type in “Image Texture”.
image
Select the texture you’d like to use.
image
After you’ve done this, make sure you’re on the Cycles engine to bake your object onto your texture. Before you bake, go back to Object mode, and select your object. Click the bake option, fiddle around which options you’d like, and click “Bake”.

Now that you have a texture, save the image, as it will be needed.
image
Next, delete any materials associated with your model. Then create a new material. Click the little circle icon and select the “Image Texture” option.
image
After that, you should have an option where you can upload an image. Click the option and upload the image you just baked.
image
Once you’ve finished that, go ahead and import your object into Studio. The colours should still stay there in Studio!

I hope this helps, if there’s any more problems, feel free to ask!
