Just started my texturing journey and i don’t really know how to draw reflecting metal… So, I just follow my instinct.

This textured sword you made looks good! Nice job on it! I rate it 10/10! How long did it take to make this sword? Will you make more?

In Blender, you can manipulate colors as numerical values, where black equals 0 and white equals 1. For example, if you create a new image texture, paint on your UV map, and plug it into the Metallic input, the white parts will become metallic while the black parts remain unchanged. This principle works for everything. So, if you want to make a realistic shiny line on a blade, you can use the same method. Just draw on a new image texture the specific part you want to be shiny, and plug it into the Roughness input (keeping in mind that black means glossy/shiny and white means matte). If you are learning how to create textures, I highly recommend watching video tutorials by Ryan King Art. Just follow a few of his videos step-by-step, and you will easily grasp the concept.

Remember to make sure you create a black image from the beginning when adding a new Image Texture node. Also, for maps like Roughness and Metallic, Normals make sure the color space of the image is set to Non-Color.
