Some say magic isn’t real; it’s a myth. I say it’s real, quite real. They’re living in the “real world.” They don’t want to believe.
Make them.
This is the story of Arthania, the world of mystery and wonder. For those that don’t believe in magic, they experience life as normal. They talk, walk, and work, and eventually die. Us, however; we’re different. We believe in the inner-workings of Mana. We can see things they can’t. And you, young Mage; you’re in for a wild ride.
Mana was discovered thousands of years ago, with what we call the Spark of Magic. A human had discovered the Well, the source of all Mana. With Mana, comes Magic. That human was the same one who became the First Mage. He learned to control the Mana, flowing it through his body, and turning it into powerful attacks; magma enough to disintegrate trees into ash, ice that can freeze oceans, and even storms the size of mountains.
But, as you know, with great power, comes great responsibility. He wanted to become more powerful with every passing day. When other people wanted to use the Well, he wouldn’t let them. He refused to let anyone near it, to the point that he drove himself mad. His blood stopped flowing. His skin became cold, almost ice. His body shattered and was scattered across Time, never to be seen again. We thought he was gone, and we thought we were safe.
That is, until now.
The First Mage, Oberon, is back. Somehow, somewhere, his body has reformed and he seeks vengeance on this world. His control of Mana is too strong for anyone to see, lest they believe in Magic as well. It’s up to young Mages like you to stop him. You need to find the Well, and channel your Mana into it.
How can you stop him, you say?
Well, it’s simple, my friend. You’ve got to become stronger, faster, tougher. You can’t take him on right now, of course. I believe you can do this, however. I’ve not the strength to fight him, due to my age and my, well, lack of a leg.
What’s that? How do I know all this?
Heh, that’s a story for another day, kid. Good luck out there.
Make them believe in magic again.
