It’s been a lot less time than I expected since the last devlog, but here I am with brand new content for TB:R!
Developing 0.2 taught me quite a lot of stuff and I’m quite proud of how it turned out.

New Icon
It’s nothing crazy, but I made a new icon for the update. Here it is:
-
Trailer
This time the trailer was done entirely by me. It started as a recording of the result of some code I made and with some video editing magic turned out quite nice, albeit short. Here’s the link. -
Menu Fixes
I absolutely despise the Roblox UI defaults literally every version so far has involved me redoing a bunch of the menu UI because it’s bugged. This time I think I fixed everything. I won’t be including images since visually it’s the same, just comprehensible. -
In-Game UIs
I made a healthbar UI, a stamina bar UI, a Sanity bar UI and a version indicator. Here’s a screenshot of how they all look in-game.
These aren’t exactly final designs, as I want to change the design for the info bars with the release of the custom inventory, but the version indicator is perfected in my opinion. -
Sanity
Currently Sanity just lowers and quickly kills you when it hits 0 but in later versions it’ll have more functionality. -
Sprinting
Exactly what you’d expect. Why yes I am stalling the explanation of the update’s main feature, how could you tell? -
Light Flickering
I made lights flicker occasionally to add some ambience and I am VERY proud of how it turned out. I would show a recording but it would be rather annoying to try and get a recording of it happening. -
Blackouts
The main focus of the update, a feature I came up with while debugging the light flickering. Very rarely there will be a blackout where all the lights turn off and the music changes. Because of how much I love the soundtrack for them (Provided by my good friend @EpicGuy2555555) I’ll include the link to it, since he put the whole OST on Youtube. Experiencing a Blackout also grants you a badge. -
What next?
In the next update I plan to add the noclipping system and Level 1. After that I think I’ll add a settings menu (And an Admin UI hehe) beyond that I currently don’t quite know. If you want to keep an eye on my progress you can join my Discord server or keep an eye on the Trello
Let me know if you have any feedback or suggestions! You can check out the update here.
