The best add-format for advertising a game?

I’m looking for your success story!

Which of the 3 format adds (300x250 pixels, or skybanner, etc) did you use for your game to get visitors?

And, how much a day did you spent?, and when? Only in the weekends, midweeks or every day? And, do you think the time you started the advert matter?

I think it’s better to advertise your game every Friday, Saturday and Sunday (and every day on vacation periods, like Summer).

Personally, I prefer skybanners (if I rememember very well, they are those big ads that appear in places like in a profile).

Also, a suggestion: Make sure your advertisements are attractive to little kids. Most people nowadays use ad blockers. Some kids do not even know their existence. And the most important rule: Don’t make clickbaits.

Good luck with your game, anyways.

Personally I think it’s better to sponsor games rather then spend money on ads for them. This is due to ads being a double edged sword when it comes to clicks and joins. Sponsoring your game is more reliable to get players as opposed to an ad.

If you are to use ads, banner and skyscraper are the way to go as most people view these and will probably click them if they look nice.

Personally, I’ve sponsored my game and sponsoring can be tricky as the promotion rates are constantly changing. I’ve noticed that during the weekends, the amount of impressions are at their lowest due to many people sponsoring their game. I have also noticed that on Thursday around 1-3am is peak impressions. Friday could be a good day as well. The one thing you want to remember with sponsoring is that you will not get as many clicks for the estimated amount of impressions you get. This is due to roblox games page featuring so many games that users may overlook it.

For price, for ads, i’d say a good 10-20k per ad. For sponsoring, which would be your main source of players, to get a lot a players, you would probably have to put in around 70-100k. It could even be more as more and more games are being sponsored.

If you do go with ads, make sure it relates to your game and pleasing for players to see. Make it unique as you want players to look at it. Having a unique ad that pops out and grabs your attention would help a lot.

What types of ads are shown on iPads and xBox consoles? I want to optimal my game for iPad, but also PC. I think I’ll stick to the banner and Sponsor Game for PC, and Sponsor Game for other consoles.

But before I’m that far, I need to find out how to generate money with gamepasses.

For mobile devices and for XBOX consoles, the only solution is to run sponsors.

As I know, there are no ads ran on mobile and phone as they use an app. Sponsoring for mobile and phone usually get you more impressions and more clicks over time but due to them being mobile users, they tend to be a younger audience. Sponsoring for the desktop will give you a higher ctr rate compared to phone and mobile. Just remember that desktop will get you the overall lowest clicks as everyone is basically sponsoring for the desktop which lowers its rate more than the other devices.

The best ads to run are Skyscraper ads on a Friday, Saturday or sunday. These ads are likely to get the most impressions.
The perk of skyscraper ads is that they are seen on more pages by a wider audience whilst banner ads are generally only seen on game pages (less likely to be clicked as the user is already on the game they want to play) and on the developer pages which are used by a more mature audience who are less likely to click these ads. Because of this I always choose a skyscraper ad over a banner ad
