INTRODUCTION/SUMMARY
In The Chase Studio, the newer refined version (formerly named the “remake”) is an upcoming replacement of the current version of the game. In July, I have been planning to make a brand new version of the game. The set for the update looked different, and it may look weird at first glance. That design was a hybrid of the UK, USA and Australian versions of the real life set designs of The Chase. Development of the set had started as of the end of July but ended mid-August. The release in August was supposed to be for the hybrid set but due to predictions of recieving mixed feelings on the set design and some uncertainties, in mid-August, the development has been stopped and the hybrid set has been scrapped from release. During September, I have been off Roblox for the whole month (still aware that the new version has to be done) but now I am comfortable to go back to Roblox though I like some other things to do.
In my opinion so far, the current The Chase Studio I have made has became a terrible mess. In there, there are some missing key features that should be there (Final Chase controls missing), unintuitive controls (Increments for Chaser’s offers), and such. I sincerely apologise to the players for not releasing that was expected at the best level. No wonder I was absolutely cold-hearted, building a game without great care. Now this time, a great thing will be happening to the game and the players. I want to give players the opportunity of having the best experience of The Chase Studio and this is why I’m restarting development of the newer version. Again it will be much better than the current version; I’ll give my best of my ability to build an even better set for everyone.
Development times will mainly be on weekends; there are days in weekdays I can have time to work on the game. The release date is unconfirmed at this point. I’m estimating it could possibly be in mid or end of November, though the goal is to get the game finished as soon as possible. Building and programming a game can take time so I can give you an update on what I’m currently at on this post. When development is fully done, a reminder will be displayed on the description of the current game as well as posting instructions on how to use the set, which will be three days prior to full release. It is possible that even during development, the game might be released temporarily for players to test the set and check for any mistakes and bugs.
WHAT TO EXPECT
In the redevelopment, rather than the hybrid designed set that was never released, the set will be based on UK version of The Chase, just like the current set looked like. The newer set will be much more improved compared to the current version. Every element of the set will be of the UK real life Chase set.
The controls for controling the show and the set will be refined and changed for ease of use and reliability. It will still be in form of SurfaceGUI like in the current controls. The area will be moved to the back of the studio, behind the audience seats.
When it comes to the prevention of spamming, when one group of buttons (for round) is in use, the rest of the groups will be put out of use to prevent disruption. When the round used is finished, the other groups of buttons will be put back in use (note that the functions of buttons will be in order of The Chase rounds and some may be reversible in case of mistakes occured). Also when the button has been clicked already, another click will not re-perform the function again (take a music play button for example, clicking again will not restart when playing). It is still recommended to be using private servers for the minimum disruption possible despite buttons programmed to prevent any disturbance to your roleplay.
When it comes to entering offers from the Chaser, players were not happy about the increments for the offer so in the new version, a keypad will be implemented where players enter in the amount for the Chaser’s offer, this also solves reliability issues (such as when you click the +/- button repeatedly which can take up energy and time). The keypad will give players the allowance to display any number for the offer, as well as for minus offers as well in quick time compared to the increments. Another keypad will be added for the prize fund/bank in case that if the amount get cleared by mistake, and it is required to display back the amount again.
In the current version, the controls for the Final Chase are missing, but thankfully, you’ll be finally happy that the Final Chase round buttons will be included in the new version’s controls for the roleplay. It is uncertain if the steps graphics can be displayed on the set’s wall screen due to drawbacks.
Graphics will also be displayed on the user’s interface (only when the player is seated in the audience area, and indications of the graphics displayed will be shown in control area). Cash builder, individual chase questions and final chase graphics can be displayed.
