The Freling Project

The Freling Project

This is a public showcase of our project, which will be updated monthly with our current progress. Anything here is a subject of change.

About The Studio

We are iiProjects, a small upcoming game development team. We seek experienced developers in all game development areas, including scripting, building, modeling, sound production, management and leadership, GFX, and general game design.

Currently, the team only actively consists of me solely. The reason for that is the lack of funding. I’ve decided to rather work with passion than look for investors and developers, which might not turn out to be as passionate for the project as me.

Don’t let that fool you though, as I proceed with development, I’m looking forward to collaborate with anyone who wants to invest their resources into the project. If you’re interested, and you think this is the right job for you, feel free to contact me with the info on the bottom of the post.

About The Project

The project is very ambitious, but also very hard to pull off. The game is like no other yet on Roblox, and creating it will require a lot of work and will. In the details below is a shortened version of the game idea.

Game Idea

Step into the role of an unlikely caretaker on the enigmatic Fenner Island, a private estate brimming with secrets. The Freling Project places players in a year-long journey where every day presents new challenges, responsibilities, and hidden stories.

You arrive on the island with a single task: maintain the estate of James Freling during his absence. By day, you’ll perform routine tasks, maintaining the property and uncovering hidden pieces of the Freling family’s past. Optional missions open up lore-rich encounters, gradually revealing the family’s influence and mysteries woven into the fabric of the island itself.

But as the sun sets, Fenner Island takes on a different tone, and you’ll need to rely on your monitoring systems to protect yourself and the estate from unseen threats. The island’s day-night cycle changes the nature of your tasks and heightens the suspense as you navigate each night. Surreal flashbacks and dream sequences add depth to the experience, unveiling glimpses of the past and the Freling family’s enigmatic legacy.

As the months pass, outside events and environmental shifts bring new layers of tension and surprise. Your choices throughout this immersive storyline shape the journey and influence your final outcome. With each playthrough, The Freling Project offers a distinct narrative experience, encouraging players to explore the many hidden facets of Fenner Island.

The game is set to be multiplayer, available on most devices, and has multiple game modes to meet all possible player expectations.

Important note: This game idea has been intentionally summarized to provide a general overview without revealing specific details. We value creativity and innovation, and we look forward to discussing the project’s full scope with the public when the core game elements are incorporated.

This is sick work! I am interested to see the project once it is released, for sure.

You mention:

With multiple players on one server, how will decisions be made about how to best care for the estate (which seems to be the core function of the game)? Will there be some sort of leader who decides? Or is each player free to engage how they see fit, even if that is detrimental to the other players’ objectives?

Thank you for the kind words!
Most choices that impact the progression would be made inclusively, but in case of a tie, or some more important decision like kicking a player out of the save file, it would be made by the leader, aka the creator of the save file (if we’re talking Story mode).

The game is set to have 2 main game modes, Story and Quickplay, to satisfy all kinds of players.

Story is for groups of friends, that would finish the game in more than one sitting. Each player has 4 story save slots, meaning they can host 4 separate games. The creator of the save can then invite partners to join the save before they start. In order to continue playing all players in the save file must be present.

Quickplay is for hurried people who want to complete the game in one sitting, or strangers in general. Playtime is reduced, so is some of the game content, and in this case, everything is voted on. So, if players want to kick another player out, more than half of people must confirm it.

This game looks VERY GOOD AND REALISTIC! It’s detailed and cool! How long were you working on it so far? When are you planning on releasing it?

The idea came with the “Freling family myth” 2 years ago, when I combined my previous smaller projects into the one you’re reading about.

The release date is currently unknown as we’re still in fairly early stages of development.
