I’ve been working on this for exactly two months now, and it’s not exactly finished, but I’m planning to change this the further I go into this project.
The Maniac Modded is a blatant inspiration from Murder Mystery 2 and Mad Murder, using @Stickmasterluke’s “The Mad Bloxxer Template”, I’ve decided to make a little game out of this, for fun.
My excuse and reason why “modded” is in the title is because I’m using some maps made by other creators, like from Murder Mystery 2 and Mad Murder, but also somewhat editing them to where they’re a little different, but these might be placeholders for now since I want to work on my building skills.
Here is the icon for the experience, I know it’s a bit basic but it’s basically what a Murder Mystery icon would look and I didn’t want to do anything too much to it.
There are about 6 maps in the game currently, and I plan to either add more or rework some of the placeholders by building it my own way.
Of course, there are the 3 roles, but I changed them to seem, unique in a way? We have the Bystander (Innocent), Capturer (Sheriff), and last but not least, Maniac (Murder).
Here is a little preview of the weapons, might keep them, might not, who knows?
Also I made all the players look similar but different, that’s because of the hats they’re wearing, to me it kind of makes them all different.
There are points in the game, mainly used for increasing your chances for becoming the “Maniac” or “Murder” if you prefer it that way. I’m not really planning to add stupidly expensive stuff as this is a little passion project that I like working on, the only payments you make is just buying points, yeah that’s it.
I’m also planning to start working on a spectating system and (maybe) a shop, I’m not sure yet since I’m still not a good programmer (if I can even call myself one).
I want feedback on this game and what I would need to improve on, as this would sort of help me with my scripting, but the only thing is, you would need a minimum of 3 players, so I’d suggest you ask some friends to tag along (if they’re available), otherwise you could just give feedback on the Lobby and UI (Spoiler: They’re very basic).
Weapons
So we have two weapons (obviously), the sword, and the net gun. You need to fire two shots at the Maniac to defeat them, and for the sword, it’s just one tap.
