The Mineshaft's Lift - Ideas requested

@BobygoWasTaken

Progress has been made! I’m currently working on floor 1 of a game called “The Mineshaft’s Lift”, based on the various Elevator games of Roblox. Here are some screenshots;

The objective of floor 1 is quite easy; players activate 2 switches and power on a generator to get the elevator up and running again. Probably going to be a puzzle game. Here’s the thing; I’m not good at making puzzles. I need floor ideas, everyone. The elevator has a power outage and the objective is always to restore power to it.

This looks nice! An idea that I randomly came up with: Pressure plates that require all of them to be activated to progress to the next floor.

Good luck on your game :]

Depends on whether or not this is a horror game. Please send a lil bit more info?

Just a puzzle game with a bit of a creepy vibe, nothing actually scary. The elevator stops on a randomly selected floor and the players have to solve the puzzle for that floor.

maybe some sparking wires, subtle stuf like a blackish outline around the screen, and for actual ideas try using well-known riddles and stuff like how the game Identity Theft did the whole “hug the left wall and you’ll escape the maze” thing, or how Poptropica, an old browser game, had a Mythology Island bone puzzle (can’t find that video, you gotta search it up, something about make six into ten?)

We need more decoration and attention to detail! Here’s some ideas:

  • Dust particles
  • Fly particles
  • Fog
  • Stalactites (with dripping water)
  • Ambient noise (if not already)
  • Moss
  • Mud
  • Vignette
  • Tarnished wood planks
  • Lantern detail (explain how are they are lit)

I think the fly particles and ambience are the most important ones to me tbh

Thanks for your feedback. The lanterns simply use two PointLights, one with more range than the other.
