So I recently saw that roblox did a update to improve networking and went to check it out to see if this was true. Before I get into that part I noticed that now roblox seems to hog more bandwidth and games will lag if you have 1 YouTube video open even if it is not playing. “I only experienced this with the roblox egg-hunt so it may just be that game due to the size of it and stuff.” Closing the video resolved the issue so I tested that two more times with the same outcome. I know it is not my internet because I have decent wifi and it can’t be my computer as it is a asus rogue g752 gaming notebook. Anyways after that incident I went into my own game with my coder to see if the networking was any better only to find out that it is a lot worse. At times he would start to teleport across the map or stay in one spot for a second then teleport or start to stutter on my screen. Before the networking update we did not have this issue. So then we both got into our cars in the game and drove behind each other to see if we would hit each other from network delay and that did happen but from a lot farther distance than what it used to be. I have video of this happening and will be posting that once my coder sends the video to me. On another note I noticed that for some reason one of his wheels on my screen was stuck in the car while for him it was where it should be this could be a problem on our end but could also be due to the new networking. The first image you see here is of the wheel glitch which for him my car did the same thing on his screen. The second image is of his car hitting my car yet he was all the way back there.
Do you have video of the problem? How often does the problem happen and what triggers it?
Anything player controlled triggers it as for the video I will try to get that from my coder today. I noticed that the lag spiking starts to happen at certain sps which never happened before either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xieVUYNucsM&feature=youtu.be you can only see the wheel issue and the particle issues not the collisions though. and we are positive this is from networking as the issue did not exist before until networking was updated.
What is “the particle issue”? The only issue I see here is that the wheel is missing.
Can you provide a model or a link to the place where this bug happens?
Can’t send a link since it is a private game due to the fact that if I made this public exploiters would steal our stuff. Plus you would need to have 2 people in the game to experience the wheel in middle of car glitch since it only shows the other persons car like that. The particle glitch I think is just the lag though im going off a comment that my coder made.
Would you prefer if I just sent the game over that way you guys can test it without us having to worry about making it public since we are trying to keep our work from getting stolen by having it open to the public atm.
