The Penthouse Hangout

The Penthouse Hangout is a widely ambitious hangout place that aims to be a place where you and your friends can hangout before taking off and checking out experiences that Roblox has to offer. Want to sit down for a bit with a cup of joe with some friends while it’s raining? How about celebrating a birthday? Or maybe you want to mess around with friends with admin commands. This place has you covered!

What’s new? - 12/7/2021

  • A setup called underworld that can be turned on through the setup command

  • Trash now spawns every 5-30 minutes that can be cleaned up with a broom

  • A portable grill that has a cheese burger than can be picked up

Season Checkboxes - 12/3/2021

  • Checkboxes on the wall behind the television in the living room that lets you know which seasons you’ve visited so far.

  • The weight room is recieving some renovations

  • The season checkboxes now display the period for each season

  • The tile textures used for the bathrooms are different now

  • A little more has been made for the guest room bathroom

Localization - 12/2/2021

  • The clock near the fireplace now uses the player’s selected language to determine how to display the date and time.

Monthly Leaderboard - 12/1/2021

  • Rewrote quite a bit of code related to leaderboards that reset after a period of time

Small Changes - 11/30/2021

  • A permanent outdoor fire place has replaced the poolside chairs

  • Whenever the server reaches a new season, fireworks will launch

  • More snow around and inside the pool

Interior Work - 11/27-11/29
  • Worked a little more on the interior of the penthouse
  • There’s a new wood floor texture that should make the place feel more sleek and comfortable
  • Each room of the penthouse now has it’s own ceiling color
  • The clock now chimes when it hits a new hour

Badges - 11/26/2021
  • Badges can now be awarded and I’m starting off with only four of them for now. When you earn a badge for the first time, everyone will be notified in chat. However, if you delete the badge from your inventory and are reawarded the badge, chat will not be notified.
Group Chat Role - 11/25/2021
  • Group members now have a chat role because they’re awesome
  • A command called roles has been added that refreshes your chat roles
Hot Tub - 11/24/2021

  • The hot tub now has a proper model with particles and sounds

  • Rearranged the master bedroom’s balcony to be a bit more spicy

  • Fixed the microwave sounds having no MaxRollOffDistance

  • Fixed the grammar for the request song gui for when there’s only one song in the queue

  • An admin command called requestsong that can be used to request songs without a fee

  • A floating orb that can be used to launch a few fireworks for 50 robux

  • A fried chicken tool that is only available in fall or private servers through an admin command

Radio Song Requests - 11/23/2021

  • Refactored how most of the guis were created

  • You can now place song requests for 10 robux at any radio you find around the penthouse. This price will stay around until I make sure there’s no bugs with the feature

  • Seasonal props can be used for multiple seasons rather than just one season

  • Added pool-side chairs with umbrellas for both summer and fall

  • A diving board that is purely for esthetics for the pool

  • The microwave can now be turned on for some cute sounds

User Experience Improvements - 11/22/2021

  • The umbrella holder now tells you that it needs to be raining to get an umbrella from it

  • There are now confirmation prompts for joining a portal queue and teleporting everyone in a portal queue. This should help prevent accidental teleports to random games

  • You will no longer see another portal’s proximity prompt if you are already within another portal’s queue

  • Fixed a bug where the snow particles would not revert back to rain particles when the season changed

  • There’s now tooltips for the navigation buttons to assist people. You can toggle this on and off in your settings.

  • A button to invite friends has been added to the more options gui

  • Fixed a memory leak with the navigation gui

Minor Secrets - 11/21/2021

  • Two new small secret areas that players can stumble upon

  • Winter now has snow instead of rain for its weather effect

  • You can now blow out the cake’s candles with the birthday setup

  • There’s now a present tool and party streamers for birthdays

  • Fixed an issue with the server clock surfaces disappearing

  • A balloon tool that can be obtained through through the tool command or the birthday setup

  • Winter now has hot cocoa with marshmallows in the kitchen

  • A present that you can carry around has been added

  • Fixed an issue where seasonal tool dispensers would not work

Admin Commands - 11/17/2021

  • Custom admins commands that are more unique than the ones that come with cmdr. Some include: infect, lights, explode, fling, jail, unjail, tool, weather, tod, cheese, disguise, blind, unblind, accessory

  • A ban hammer tool that can only be obtained through the ‘tool’ admin command

  • The spray can tool has been removed from public servers, but it’s still in private servers

  • The toilet council has been initiated in the master bathroom

FAQ

How do I access admin commands?

One of the many ways we allow visitors to control their experience in the hangout is by allowing private server owners to use admin commands through cmdr. You can check out the admin commands the place has to offer by hopping into a private server, pressing f2 or saying ‘cmdr’ in chat and using the ‘help’ command.

How can I setup a surprise birthday party?

All you need to do is go into a private server you own and have your friends join it. Once you’re ready to start the surprise, you can have the birthday kid stand in the kitchen in front of the oven. Once they are in place, you can blind them with ‘blind username’.

After that, you can give everyone, except the birthday kid, party poppers with this command: ‘tool usernames partypopper’. Then all you need to do is setup the birthday decorations by using ‘setup birthday’ and unblind the birthday kid with ‘unblind username’.

You can also try getting a little fancy by turning off the lights while preparing everything with the command ‘lights off’.

What happened to the effects from my accessory?

All scripts, particle effects, and sounds are removed from accessories when your character loads in. This is to prevent them from bothering other players.

Where can I get the spray can tool?

It has been removed in public servers, but it’s still available in private servers. You can find it outside near the graffiti on the wall.
