New Game Mode: Freeze Tag!
To celebrate the holidays, Freeze Tag is added as Prism’s newest game mode! The name of the game is simple:
- A player will randomly be chosen to be the tagger.
- If at least seven (7) people are in the game, an additional tagger may be chosen at random.
- Players will have ~10 seconds to run and hide.
- After the initial countdown, taggers will be given a greater walkspeed, will be semi-transparent, and will be given “Freeze Powers.”
- If a tagger touches a runner, the runner will freeze and will be encased in a block of ice.
- In order for a runner to be freed, another runner must touch the block they are trapped in.
- Runners win if the time runs out; tagger(s) win if they are able to freeze every single runner.
Also, when a round of Freeze Tag is loaded, every part in the map will turn to ice, the fog will thicken, and snow will begin to fall.
New Christmas Event!
There is a new Christmas event which will be published later this week, so be on the lookout for that! It will entail collecting as many presents from slain enemies as you can over the remainder of the month, with the top 10-15 being awarded a prize! More information will be revealed.
On top of this, Christmas music has been added into the Prism, and we may or may not experiment with decorating the lobby further.
Custom Cursors!
This has been suggested for forever, and now custom cursors are making an appearance in Prism! Simply click the “Cursor” gui on the left of your screen to input the id of any decal of your choosing.
Yes, custom cursors SHOULD work for every gun in the Prism!
New Obbies!
DrSprinklesz has built for the Prism two brand new obstacle courses, labelled DrSprinklesz Obby1 and DrSprinklsz Obby2. Check them out!
New Technology
The list of guns in the Prism has expanded - the new line of guns currently used at Celeste and the Fairzone have finally been added into the Prism! Given there are so many guns in our line up, they have been split into five (5) separate Tech selections - these are:
- GUF:Fairzone: The Maelstrom and the autolock Medigun
- GUF:Celeste2: The Maelstrom, Icarus, non-autolock Medigun, and a bag of Cheetos
- GUF:Snipers: The Epiphany and Icarus
- GUF:Shotguns: The Havos and Icarus
- GUF:All: All of the new GUF guns
To avoid confusion, the old “Celeste2” Tech has been renamed to “Celeste2:Legacy.”
Random Trainings!
Are you a trainer and unsure of which mode or map you want to select, seeing as there are so many options? No worries! You can now click the “Randomize” button at the top of the trainer UI, and the Prism will automatically select a Map, Mode, Tech, Outscore, and MaxPoints!
The Prism will choose optimal combinations; eg. an obby will not be loaded with guns, or a round of Capture the Flag will not be loaded with 7 Max Points.
Known bug: During testing the randomize button broke; if this happens please report it to me ASAP so I can try to figure out the root cause. The Randomize button seems to work like 99% of the time, though
Bug Fixes!
- Fixed an issue where if you loaded Doomspire during a training and tried to load it a second time, it wouldn’t end the round/eliminate teams properly.
- Fixed an issue where people were randomly dying to an invisible kill floor (suspected cause: Doomspire not resetting properly when you ended the round).
- The Mode Filter in the Trainer UI should no longer break/show modes that aren’t compatible with the selected map.
- Music should now play properly once a map is loaded; before there was a chance that music wouldn’t play at all.
*Fixed the vending machines. - Tons of back-end updates that no one cares about! (tldr make my life easier when I go to add stuff and got rid of any redundancies back when I first started coding the Prism in January).
- Other small bug fixes that I forgot to make note of lol.
If you have any suggestions or feedback for future Prism updates, please don’t hesitate to let me know!
