The "RightGrip" weld of tools is not replicating properly

When equipping a Tool (such as a gear in the catalog), there is a chance the “RightGrip” weld, which binds the Handle to the Right Arm (of R6), will not be created on the Server. Normally happens on the 2nd or 3rd requipped.

  1. Start Server with 1 player
  2. Equip tool and unequip tool until the RightGrip does not replicate to the server
  3. Notice the tool is no longer attached to the Player on the Server.

  • When did the bug start happening? Started happing today, also a couple of days ago, but was fixed before I noticed it.

Yeah, just spent a few minutes debugging this myself. Can confirm this is broken. Completely breaks all tools in my game since they just immediately fall out of the world if there’s any rotation in the tool Grip. Should be ROBLOXCRITICAL.

@ConvexHero

Yeah, this is breaking my game as well. Players keep having their tools disappear shortly after being equipped.

(@Baumz I think you have to put [ROBLOXCRITICAL] at the front of the title, rather than just as a tag)

Vouch for this bug, my game’s gun broke and it removes all the tools.

I’m having the same issue. However since this doesn’t happen every time some users are getting their tools taken away and not others, causing these players to lose. It’s very unfair to them and this upsets me because I want to provide a very clean and fair experience for my players.

Change should be reverted. Let us know if you are still experiencing this behavior.

Fixed… but why was this allowed to happen? :frowning:

Shouldn’t big changes that have the potential to break every game on Roblox be thoroughly tested and not just stealthily implemented globally? I don’t mean to be rude, it’s just kind of upsetting that this can happen with Roblox’s apparent roll-out policies…

Tools definitely ought to receive a bit more testing before certain changes, since this same tool disappearing issue has happened multiple times in the past as well.
