ROME
This guide contains the Roman Empire’s rank structure, in addition to the process used to earn promotions in the Empire.
ROMAN EMPIRE RANK STRUCTURE
CIVILIAN RANKS
Provincial - A traveling foreigner in the lands of Rome.
Criminal - A person who has committed treason or has not obeyed the laws.
Servant - Has absolutely no rights. However can earn status by proximity to any wealthy family, Servants serve the need of the Gens families
Plebeian - To qualify. Any military member below Centurion, and above Milites. Any civilian who is a member of a Plebeian familly that is given full citizenship by a census conducted by any appropriate imperium holder.
Equestrian - (To Qualify: Must have any close family members in the family with the status of Centurion and below Tribunus Laticlavius. Or equivalent of any Military or Para-Military service.)
Patrician - To qualify: Must have any family member in the family with the status of Tribunus Laticlavius, Senator or higher.
MILITARY RANKS
Military Personnel - A person who is currently serving time in the Roman Legions.
Military Officer - A Military officer is the equivalent rank of 'Centurion' and up
RELIGIOUS RANKS

GOVERNMENT RANKS
Judge - May issue a singular decree per two weeks to temporarily make something law.
May temporarily control law enforcement or legions to enforce the law or execute warrants.
Plebeian Council - Be at the head of a Plebeian gens. Charged with advising the senate on laws to make.
Plebeian Tribune - Chosen by the plebeian council among their peers.
Quaestor - Assistant to any imperium holder.
Senator - Former Quaestor or a Legatus charged with making laws for the empire.
Magistrate - Aedile charged with hosting the public feasts, games or other public events. Overseeing civilian colleges and the organisation of registered gladiators. Selected among the senate by the senate.
Censor - Charged with holding the census of the state and organizing the public family records. Overseeing civilian colleges. Selected among the ex-consuls, ex-praetors and ex-aediles by the senate or appointed by the Emperor or his Council directly.
COMMAND RANKS
Praetor - Oversees the roman military whenever consuls are not doing so. Oversees the senate. Functions as a judge. Chosen among the senate by the senate.
Consul - Oversees the senate, has judicial imperium below the Praefectus Urbanus, has full imperium in non-imperial provinces. (Any province without a Legatus Augusti Pro-Praetore) May be given any task by the Consilium Principis or emperor to do anything. (Can't oversee members of the Consilium Principis if not a member himself)
Consilium Principis - Board of advisors to the emperor who hold as much authority as him. (Whom may ratify senatorial decree's, laws etc.)
