The sands of kronos

hey everyone! i recently got incredibly inspired after i decided to model an hourglass in blender.

i took this hourglass and instantly got to work thinking of ideas for a showcase i could make with this.

i thought of this idea: the resting place of kronos, the greek god of time. kronos is buried deep within the sands, his personal belongings buried with him. the most important belonging though is the hourglass, or time itself.

i also modeled some pocket watches and chains to add more time related things to the showcase.

i also made the clock hands tick around with some cframe magic.

in the end, im very happy with how this came out.

Hi, I’m Paul
I would just want to say your hour glass model looks really great and the time clocks looks really impressive.
Well to be honest, you did a descent job on your models because I see the way you made this, and this reminds me of a great time movie.
Well in all, you did a very great job though my suggestion,
it’s more better if you could add more clock models in the game to look better.

Awesome! The models appear so detailed to look at with the greek mythology you added in for context, with the eerie ambience too. The pocketwatches also look great with details and also the small functionality you threw into, which makes it feel like the greek god is still lurking around after burial.

You could throw in a bit more antique objects time-related to give it a little kick!

Looking at the title and the place almost reminded me of the whole smug dance meme’s original song lol. Still kinda feeling that after

thank you! i was definitely thinking of adding more time related items to the showcase.

thanks so much for the feedback! i had an idea to maybe add remnants of kronos himself. like a hand poking through the sand or something like that. i hadnt even thought of comparing this to the smug dance thing but now that you mention it, the title really is similar lol. anyway, thanks for the feedback again!

This absolutely stunning, getting some Beerus’s planet vibe with the hour glass.

thanks so much! i have a few plans for what i can do with this so stay tuned!

Very good. I think you should add a beam or something for sand particles flowing through the hourglass - right now it doesn’t move at all which is a little ironic considering the theme of the place.
Love how the chains swing about too. That’s pretty cool.

I really like the concept a lot. It brings the looks on the ambience, which is really nice.
However, I would like to suggest adding music, ruined pillars, cactus and mountains outside of the skybox. It will improve the showcase a lot. The suggestions can be all yours!

Overall, I like it! You did a great progress on your own showcase. :+1:

thanks so much! i actually do have some sand flowing down but i guess it’s pretty hard to see so i’ll make that more noticeable. i really wanted to emphasize on movement so having the chains swings just kinda gave the player more to look at, glad you liked them! thanks so much!
