The Secret to Finding Music on Roblox

Searching for the right music in the Roblox music library can be tedious.
Here is a great way to speed up the process:

Roblox acquired most of their music from APM Music. Their website has fantastic searching and sorting functions – far more versatile than Roblox’s toolbox search.

Go to the APM Music - Search website.

Filter by any of the libraries that Roblox purchased (not an exhaustive list):

  • KPM Music
  • Inside Tracks
  • Jump Music
  • Kaptain
  • Afro Musique
  • Sonoton
  • Club Chart
  • Bruton
  • Burn
  • Juice Music
  • Nightingale Music
  • Justement Music
  • JW Media Music
  • Hard
  • Ded Good
  • Surefire
  • Rhymez
  • Bibliotheque
  • Montmorency Records
  • Kingdom 2
  • AXS
  • Lemoncake
  • Soho
  • Epic Score
  • Kosinus
  • Selected Sound Online

Here’s an example of me filtering the by the library KPM Music:
(Much of Roblox’s music comes from the KPM Library)
APM Settings

Be sure to switch to “Track View” to view the individual songs.
You can further narrow the search by any of APM’s numerous filters such as:

  • Genre
  • Mood
  • Instruments
  • Tempo
  • etc…

When you find a song you like, search for it by name in Studio after applying the “Creator → Roblox” filter:

Scroll through the toolbox to find the matching title.
(It might not be at the top, as Roblox’s search is still pretty bad)

Notes:

This is not a one-to-one guarantee. There are many songs and sound effects in the Roblox library not on APM Music. There is also a lot of music on APM that is not on Roblox. So it might take a few tries to find one.

Regardless, I find that it’s a lot easier than using Roblox’s toolbox search.

Happy searching!

Most people are trying not to have robloxs spammed APM music in their toolbox.
Seriously, I hope they make a option to mute this :roblox_light:
Look up anything on roblox.
For instance: “Hot day”
Now tell me how long it takes you to find an usermade audio.

If anyone is making a fighting game (players versus anything not human), I suggest looking into this:

JUICE MUSIC (JM) - JM-0016 - TENSION BEDS

The best solution I found to filtering out Roblox uploaded music is limiting the sound length to about 25 seconds or below.

Of course, my post only helps to search through Roblox’s music.

If you find a track you like on APM it can sometimes be hard to find it in Roblox library. One thing that sometimes helps is to try using a Google search for the name of the track followed by site:roblox.com. Another benefit of using Google is you can search the description. So if there’s a track you like on Roblox, look for a unique string in the description of the album or artist or collection, and try Googling that, while restricting the site to roblox.com.
