Screenshot 2023-08-09 201928

This is my first ever hat I made in studio!
Tell me what do you think about it and do the poll below.
In The Replies, tell me what needs to be improved.
(And Idk how to make the volcano leak lava so anyone here knows how to do it, PLS TELL ME)

  • Does This Hat Need Improvement?
  • It Looks good as it is.

So the hat in my opinion looks good, though I think the top should be a tad thicker and short.

Needs work.

This looks less like a volcano and more like a brown cone.

Suggestions for your model:
Make it less elongated at the top, and include some lava lines flowing down. (Maybe lava parts coming from the top or even smoke clouds)

Enlarge the “forest area” and spend more effort on the small details (add palm trees, maybe make it look more like a island), Maybe add a hut.

Enable Autosmooth on the hat,
Add some textures of grass and rocks to green and brown colors.

Perhaps make the volcano errupt to give out more detail.
UGC could be a choice of having a errupt version and one without erruption.

Perhaps add more spiky rocks to the volcano and the tip of the volcano lowered down as it is incredibly thinned out.

Maybe add a little smoke cloud on the top?

Shouldn’t this go in #help-and-feedback:creations-feedback?

Anyways, the model looks good! Looks way better than my first ever models!

It def needs improvement but considering the fact that this is your first model, I wouldn’t stress about that (doesn’t mean you can improve it right now, I’d probably encourage you to).

its looks like that one chocolate “candie” they used to be in cookies or tinfoil hat, need improvement, no offense…

It’s not smooth enough. And that top part looks too tall. Just remove this part

The green grass doesn’t look very suitable. What about a yellow sand color or a dark stone?

This is awesome, especially for one of your first creations. I’d encourage you to find a way to integrate it more with the avatar’s head (so it’s not just sitting on top of the dummy). I also think it might help the volcano aesthetic to make the opening at the top a bit wider. I can’t tell if you’ve done this already, but beveling the areas that are sloped can help the change be a bit more gradual, too.
Hope this helps!

yeah… but like how do you do that and theres less information about it.

To bevel the sloped areas you select the faces (hold shift while clicking on the desired faces) in Edit Mode (top left of the window) and Ctrl + B to bevel (move your mouse to adjust). Let me know if you still have any questions.

It’s not beveling that it needs, it’s the smooth surface setting to be enabled. auto smooth or just smooth.

Beveling will just make it smoother and just cause more faces to exist on the model causing mostly lag.

I don’t think that beveling to a reasonable amount will cause a noticeable difference, if that, in game performance. The model has few faces to begin with. Auto smooth will help but will look choppy if you do it with such low poly.

Auto smooth has an angle level, it will look more smooth than beveling.
I believe that it’s superior, no offense ofc. it’s my own preference.
