The War Series: Place Guide
Currently Active TWS Places
TRAINING FACILITIES:
OPFAC - Currently used as the main hub of The War Series. It is the main base used for all basic operations relating to TWS. Many of our members go through their starting ropes here and will expand and grow their knowledge before heading out to the battlefield and bigger maps to practice skills learned.
OPD - OPD is currently used as a “starter” operation place. This place is designed to teach and engage Marines in squad-based tactics, led by an NCO+, while being observed and taught by a Pathing+ member. Later on, OPD is planned to be expanded and grow alongside OPFAC.
RA# - Restricted Access is currently a training facility used by Higher+ Team members to teach the future leaders of leaders (Pathing members). Though its location seems to be constantly changing, its core values and lessons are still at the heart of all TWS HICOM.
BASES/RAIDABLE PLACES:
FOV - Currently used as the main Forward Outpost of The War Series. Requires 5 TWS members, one being a Master SGT+ to moderate for an “official” raid. [Limit 2 raiders per 1 TWS member]
TDM Maps:
Frostbite - Frostbite is the smallest map in the TDM selection, it is perfect for small groups, has a little cover and lots of flank opportunities and no one spot is going to be perfectly safe at all times. This map is not recommended for large groups.
Spinnertop - Spinnertop is the tankiest TDM map. While relatively small, Spinnertop has the most cover per step. Cover spots are hard to flank and the middle point is often held by the dominating team. Balancing teams is essential.
Oblivion - Oblivion, while a small map, can fit larger amounts of players due to its fortress-like gameplay with a lot of flanking opportunities. Not recommended for small groups of people as they may lose each other and it will prolong the game beyond a comfortable level.
Skybowtie - Skybowtie is one of the few maps where falling off the edge is a real issue. This map has the least amount of cover with a very cover-heavy bridge in the center of the map. Recommended for medium-sized groups.
Track Valley 2 (TV2) - Track Valley 2 is a medium-sized map with lots of exposed cover angles and lots of different flank routes. Because of its size, TV2 should be played with a larger quantity of participants (at least 6).
Skirmish - Skirmish is often used as a free-for-all map, best played in large groups of people (4 minimum, 8+ for best experience). This map is very versatile with sneaky routes and flanks. It’s also one of the few maps in TWS to offer all classes to its users due to its large nature.
