This issue has been preventing me from transitioning from Legacy Fog to Atmosphere

Hey all.

I’m currently having trouble finding solutions to this specific issue that prevents me from transitioning my game’s lighting to use Atmosphere.

This delay right here is a complete turn-off when it comes to using Atmosphere in my game. It relies on having a realistic day and night transition cycle and it does not look good with this issue.

if anybody has solutions for this problem, I’d appreciate the feedback.

Make the transition slower? if you can somehow slow it down, I think it would look better. Or like make the changes more incremental, add a sunrise/sunset, or at least a gradient from the day to night.

Sine it sounds like its storming: A perfectly timed lighting strike. The screen flashes and hides all the messy load-ins. (cons, not good for players with photosensitivity issues.)

I’ve seen this issue already, and indeed the atmosphere should transition lot faster and less clippy.

Can you post a video of the ‘good’ transition using legacy fog to compare with this one?

I have to concur with those suggesting smoother day/night transitions. I’ve played games that have it just abruptly switch between dawn, noon, dusk, and midnight and it doesn’t look good, especially when you can see the sun/moon and it just zips across the screen at mach speed.
