Thoughts on Low poly Medieval House

Hello everyone.

Today, i’ve been working on this little low poly medieval house. I would love to get some feedback & suggestions on it, and if you think i should change or add anything please let me know.

It looks really nice. A few things that might improve it though:

  • Roof shingles (maybe not many, just a few like how I drew would look nice)
  • Wooden beams around roof edges
  • Wooden beams at the bottom of the top section since I feel it looks a bit odd without a border between the brick and the top section
  • Darker corner bricks (they’re a bit hard to see right now so more contrast would be good)
  • Some bricks like the shingles on the side of the chimney to give it more detail

Overall great, I especially like the door. It’s just a few small improvements that would give it more character.

Be sure to post an update if you make a few changes too, it’d be nice to see how it progresses!

For sure, those suggestions you posted above are really game changing. This build would atleast look twice better after adding those suggestions. Thank you once again.

Just added a few of your suggestions, and honestly the change is mind blowing, it’s crazy how little details can add so much impact.

I really like it! Maybe add a few more of those tiles on the roof (idk what to call them lol, the little grey blocks) as to me they look kind of out of place and just randomly put there.

For sure, thanks for the feedback. Also, do you think the grey colour matches the building or should i change it from grey to something else ?

I think the colour is fine but you could always try a darker/lighter red so that it matches the roof maybe? If not, then it’s good as it is.

It’s not bad, but I wouldn’t really consider that Low-Poly, as this build lacks a sense of abstractness. Low-Poly is a style where there should be more imperfections. You could try adding some imperfections to the house, but right now it looks too perfect to be considered “low-poly”.

Definitely noticed that, thanks for your feedback. I really appreciate it.
