I love the idea, but I would recommend trying to make something that will make your game shine and be unique since Super Nostalgia Zone already made a similar game to what you’re explaining. I also really like the idea of having the events because people tend to love those, including me.
Although I like this idea, I don’t think it would be profitable. Not to mention the amount of time recreating that entire era might be. A forum inside a Roblox game might be interesting, but that probably wouldn’t be used much and we have the dev forum anyway. I know it’s not the same, but I mean if you want to go for it, do so.
I’d rather make a game that I’m passionate about and love making compared to making a simulator or something like that.
Thanks for commenting, Profitability isn’t what I’m looking for with this project, but it’s a passion project, and also a project for learning.
The difference is, this can be a forum for everyone on Roblox, not just limited to and for use of Development on Roblox. So many different categories and topics may change this!
Thats a good comment. Im planning to bring back old features from the dates listed above, maybe that will encourage older Roblox players to want to play more, since SNZ doesn’t have Forums or Game Making or Events, and etc…
Oh, @Valkyrop already made some progress on a game like that, there’s also the catalogue, but didn’t seem to fun if it was always on the UI page.
Try to add a twist instead of making an entire replication of it!
The point is, you could make it a story game, or a multi-minigame, an adventure game with obstacles, puzzles and mysteries, however replicating a website on a website in their game engine might not be so fun.
See, it’s already being made, but the main issue is that there’s not enough playability.
Retro style could be the theme, but the game core has to be something other than a UI website simulation. Pretty much all UI simulation games failed.
But once again as said earlier, Im not intending or looking foward to game success, only success in the ability to improve my skills in general, not necessarily how to make my game fun for others. A story would not need to be in the game considering its a simulation of a old state of Roblox, that could be for a separate game. Im planning to make a feature were players can make there own games in a old studio.
Im not a fan favorite of having a heavily monetized game, so I wouldn’t monetize this at all.
Why would I just remake 2007 - 2012 UI? That would be completely useless. Im making a simulation, as in replicating that era of Roblox, there would be completely no point at all if I just made a UI game.
Its also not intended to become big, Im not even gonna advertise it because my main focus isn’t making a story or adventure game, or making a player base, but to emulate a past era.
There would still be a point as you’ll practice something.
Anyways, the idea of I’m making a simulation of a whole platform alone just to practice skill, is not feasible. But you’ll definitely still learn something.
