I think I’m going to make both then show it in this thread then go from there.
If you are ready to add HDRI you don’t need to select a part, deselect everything and make sure you’re on the world Node Editor by making sure the globe is pressed on the Node Editor.

Ok I’ve done done that but the character is still purple/pink. What have I messed up?
Leave that for now, if its imported correctly it should render with the textures on. Make sure you’re in cycles.

Acting a bit aggressive with the statements although I agree with what you are saying you are over exaggerating the text people lower down than usual.
