My New Terrain Map
Please give me honest criticism as its one of my first terrain maps.
The sun makes the entire terrain invisible. I cannot give you any feedback.
I apologise for that, i did not think of that when i made this post!
Is a little tough to see what’s going on while staring into the sun in every pic.
They seem okay to me on the whole. The images you’ve used for plants in the first picture are obviously on their side. Visitors won’t usually expect to see plants with thicker branches growing horizontally. Taking care that those stay upright (or using images with less noticeable stem parts) will help with the illusion in general.
In the second image, the repetition of those plants with the white-ish halo is a little too obvious. Can try to push back the color of that outline in the source image so it isn’t as noticeable, or maybe vary the size of those bushes a bit more so the similarities aren’t immediately seen.
Looks like some of the trees also have leaf clumps upside down. Can be fixed by editing the source image to remove thickest parts of the branches and maybe adjusting things so there are always leaves around the edges whichever way the image is turned.
It’s an interesting look, but if you are going for realism make sure to look for reference materials. I’m wondering if the sky would have that hue when the sun causes the grass to show golden like that. Is nice if you’re going for a bit of a stylized look.
Keep at it! There are definitely some good things in there.
Thank you for your opinion, ill try to improve further in the future!
WOAH! That is super good! What are you making it for?
Actually im building it for this :
This is my progress on the church, tho i must admit its not my best work and ill most likely start over :
I really like the idea of putting a church on top of a hill in a colorful forest!
'd love to see where this project goes
Its actually a church 30 miles out of Milwaukee i went to recently. I found it interesting and though id try and recreate it. What amazes me you can see the Milwaukee Skyline from 30 miles away. But anyway thank you for taking the time to respond.
God Bless!
