Hi! I just wanted to share an image from my game. It includes a randomly generated archipelago, and just wanted to know your thoughts because I thought it was beautiful.
Depth of field effect isn’t really in the game, I just added it for the screenshot.
Could you please take a screenshot of the terrain in its full size?
It’s a decent start. Will this game include more objects throughout the terrain such as variety of trees, plants, shrubs, ect. Considering that there are just trees placed throughout the map overall. I do recommend creating another variety of trees instead of the same ones you have now. It looks very unnatural however if it fits the theme your going for I’ll leave it the same, but to give it more of a realistic feel to it. I would try making mountains so the land doesn’t just be a flat place.
The game is a primitive survival game, it’s going to kind of be a mix of all my favorite survival games.
The terrain generation is very uninteresting and rudimentary at the moment, I like to think of it as a prototype. The flora will be more varied as development continues and I’ve completed most of the core mechanics. My main focus right now is making a working system with decently organized code, and I’ll be making improvements as I progress.
I understand that this isn’t really the point, but I think that since you have only a single tree in focus, you may be better off adjusting the focus to the group of trees yonder.
I like the scene but I can’t see the rest of the terrain apart from a single tree since it’s pretty blurry, remove the depth of field effect and the scene looks amazing
I feel like the depth of field is focused way too much on that single tree. If you had planned to put some other object in its focus, then keep the distance the same. Otherwise, I suggest making the distance long enough to where a few trees are in its focus.
