Thoughts on SFOTH GFX

Personal project of mine. Decided to use a classic map with not-so-classic weapons.

Criticism and feedback is appreciated. Be as harsh as you like!

Overall I like it, especially sun rays! :+1:

What about adding shadow of this guy?

I could add it in post-processing. Thanks for the feedback!

It looks amazing, I’m assuming that you used a PBR texture for the ground? Also the blue guy looks a bit weird being blue while everything else is an orange-ish tint, In my opinion I would have used gray instead of blue for the blue guy.

Blue is complementary to orange, so the blue guy definitely stands out compared to the rest of the scene. I believe the choice of using complimentary colors isn’t necessarily the problem but rather how it’s balanced with the rest of the scene. Although prominent, the blue guy only takes up a fraction of the screen while the rest is in orange/yellow.

(Color palate I was using)

(Monochromatic; I believe you’re talking about this?)

(Painting by Van Gogh lol)

Notice how if you squint at the picture, neither orange or blue overtake one another, creating a balanced color scheme. Whereas in the GFX, the scene was predominantly orange.

Anyway, thanks for listening to my color theory jargon along with giving me feedback! I’ll make sure to consider this when I’m doing pieces in the future.

That looks very good! I like the colors and style of the GFX.

Ok, Now I see why you chose that. I’m also a GFX artist and this helps put another view on things.
