The thumbnail is really good, maybe just get better lighting, The character in the front has a weird height. Anyways it’s good!
This is a good thumbnail, but I think it should show the actual game like maybe someone falling in one of the maps in the game. Also was this made in blender? For some reason it looks like it was just placed in studio, although there’s nothing wrong with studio, there would be much better graphically if you used a third-party software like blender or Cinema4d. Yeah, there’s nothing really bad about, it tells you the name of the game, and the amount of stages/ types of stage although maybe just keep the text for “The Dropper” on 0 rotation.
I actually don’t mind the font, I would suggest to move away from the red/black floor. Other then that looks great.
I just threw it together in studio, blender is annoying to use for thumbnails
Your current layout you could Export Selection, Import it into blender, make sure the textures are on there which they should be, and if you want add a hdri, or a light. Then render it. If you really want to you can do this, it would give a lot more depth to you current thumbnail.
So i’ve decided to take a new approach to show more of the stage design / player falling down a stage
I think it looks much cleaner.
Thanks for the feedback!
Urrr… Did you render this in Blender?
@5mqb
As for the OP the thumbnail doesn’t show it’s a running game or no game at all since you have different ui in the above left corner this definitely requires some work. I don’t know if you noticed that the characters aren’t jumping across the obstacles it looks more like there hitting the obstacle perhaps bring him up instead of the character being lowered to the ground surface.
The background doesn’t fit which won’t give players ideas on what game it is or the purpose of it, the white outlines around the character looks here and there. The socializing and interacting looks alright but include more characters running and doing the obstacle.
This could definitely use some few improvement. Try to include what the game is, include characters running or probably add effects so it looks more better.
As I read through the posts, most of the DevForum Community Members mostly covered what is missing. However, they did not mention much about the lighting. As you could tell, you positioned the “sun” in the left corner of the screen - therefore it should give radiation to the characters shown on the screen. However since there’s so much lack of lighting and shading, your GFX just looks unfinished and unrealistic. I suggest improving this mistake by utilizing Photoshop, or Blender - in order to fix your lighting and shading to your GFXs.
