Some people here find it very amusing to upload the most obnoxious avatars, so I use Adblock Plus to remove those avatars. Unfortunately, life isn’t that simple, and these people change their avatars. New avatars that I have to block again. The image directory for avatars is set up like this
As you can see, there’s no directory between users and the avatar, so the next best thing I could do would be to block all avatars, which I don’t favor doing. Life would be much easier if the directories were set up like this:
/users/userId/imageName.png
so that I could block all avatars uploaded by that person.
Edit: oops – wasn’t thinking and put this in web features – should be in the inception category.
Thank you mael – I had no idea the first portion of the file name was the user ID of that person. user IDs here are so different from the ones on the main site
Because this is the internet, a place that knows no dignity. I’m more likely to get a flamebait response than I am a legible, mature response. There’s a good chance most, if not all, of the people I’ve blocked do this intentionally, so I’d gain nothing by PMing them.
I’m BC – I’m pretty sure ROBLOX doesn’t care if I block ads because I’m not shown any real ads in the first place. All I’m blocking are those user-made, completely out-of-place ads which know no quality standard at all, and I don’t think I’ll ever find myself wanting to view those.
“Whyyy would they set this up specifically for you”
As you can see (Mael’s post), I’m not the only one who uses Adblock – Stravant is another one off the top of my head (he went as far to block every avatar IIRC.) If you have BC, there’s no reason you shouldn’t use Adblock – at least on ROBLOX. It also removes all those scammy ads on random sites people tend to want to click, so it’s a win-win.
